Dramebaaz!!! - My Journey to Become An Actor - Day 1 to Day 45

I was standing //shaking on the stage with my convent's headmistress behind my back nuddging me to read the news headlines. I was on the verge of tears and my friends had a good laugh during this episode. And don't forget my LISP. I do have issues when it comes to pronouncing 'T' and seriously man that's the reason why i even drink coffee. Enough with the bad //mokkai jokes. That happened when i was in 8th standard.

Now i am

But still stage is always a stage. The elevated surface from where everyone could see you, judge you and pass comments over your stupidity.  Like any story, there comes a day where the evil is defeated by the courageous. And it did happen in my story.

And when it happened, i became an ACTOR!!!

Oh yeah!!! Now i can call myself an Actor!!!

Thanks to Evam's First Rush for making this happen.

There has been a lot of "OH EFFING SHIT" moments during the play but still its better than the days i felt nothing at all.

Now i ll let you guys know how it was to become a Drama Actor for a person who was once afraid of stage.

First & Second days :

That was when i met Sunil Kumar alias Shoosa. My batch consisted of 19 and 19 being the second highest among all the First Rush batches, we didn't enjoy a lot. Shoosa was an energetic man with a lot of passion for acting. I must say his trademark bulged eyes happened whenever he tried to teach us something. I personally was motivated by his words and eyes.

We were made to do a lot of crazy exercises and the most funny one was the volume test where we were supposed to raise and lower our volume with respect with the numbers 1 to 5. Remember the scene from "Nautanki saala" and that's what that had happened.

Two days of training included Directing a skid, Acting and finally a showcase before 'Life of Pie' fame 'T.M.Karthik' and previous First Rush batch students.

It was fun in a nutshell. When we were thinking, "Ok fine, the fun is over" then started the real one.

"WE WERE SUPPOSED TO PUT UP A SHOW ON APRIL 28TH!!"
on
ALLIANCE Français!!!

And thats when the shivering started....

We had 45 more days to decide on skids and rehearse and perform before a crowd (not drama people).

It was 45 days of non stop fun. I rushed to office every morning by 7 and worked my 9 hours and got my bus to Vidyasagar School in Kotturpuram and reached everyday 30 mins late, ending up doing the number of pushups proportional to the number of mins i was late. It really toned my body :P

Every night we would either go to beach or some restaurant, stay there till they close or push us out. I swear, Varun ordered a drink at 12.30 AM in Pizza Hut. Varun Vasudevan was one of our batch mates who has the tendency to eat anything if tagged as edible. His hunger knows no limits. He proudly claims, he had 13 parottas in a restaurant and then reached home and ate 10 idlis since it was about to go waste.

What an altruistic soul!!!

If i am gonna write about my other friends then this post will not end till tomorrow morning so i am gonna keep that agenda for the later posts so now coming to the point.

45 days of practice did pay off and we did make a show. Not just a normal show but a spectacular one. I am shoving my modesty inside my back pack for just this one post. Think of it. People from various different background constrained by different time frames of deadlines still made it for the rehearsal and worked very hard, slept very rarely and came up with an enjoyable 80 mins. And that my friends, that would not have been possible if it would not have been for the people who were involved in it. We did have a few glitches, which we turned it for our benefit.

The Girl in the Train - the sketch in which Myself, Murali and Archana starred. From day 1, myself and Archana didn't seem to strike chord anytime (maybe accounting to the fact that she is a maths teacher) but it was very much useful during the sketch where she has to really despise me. ofcourse Archana Kudos!!! people believed that you were acting but only i know that its the real deal :P

Enough of words, now you can see the pictures taken

And finally i became an ACTOR!!!

my post after a long long time

I do blog!!!

Of-course when the moon turns corporate blue or when project manager believes the powerpoint deck can be managed by himself. But today i decided to do something extraordinary...

Yeah fellows, you read it right. I am back!!!

P.S: Just not like the way i typed three months back. This time its for real... i guess :P

To harden my resolve, i thought i should make a serious point by registering my blog with blogadda.com
(Also for the free books!!! Am so excited about it)

Registration was a cake wake but the problem came when this happened

It was well and good. I got to place the anchored image in my blog. It was just a routine but i forgot how long it was for me to explore the XML data. I was baffled by the level of data i was confronted with. It took nearly 30 minutes to finally place the link. I would like to share that information here so that someone else won't suffer the same fate.
